Saracens have unveiled their 10,000 seater arena at their new home of Allianz Park in Barnet, North London. The venue, previously named the Copthall Stadium has undergone a £24m rejuvenation to become a unique community sports hub. The stadium will provide a real home for Saracens, a new sporting facility available free of charge to every school in the borough and a hugely improved venue for athletics in the South East.

Allianz Park is also the most energy efficient stadium in the United Kingdom, by taking its own innovative actions to reduce its environmental impact by adopting sustainable solutions to their energy, water, transport and waste needs and becoming an advocate for environmentally sound practices.

Throughout 2013 Allianz Park will welcome some of the world’s best rugby players to compete in the newest and most modern stadium in Europe and is set to host its first game on Saturday 16th February 2013 when Exeter Chiefs become the inaugural visitors to Saracens’ new ground.

Though designed primarily for rugby, Allianz Park is also capable of hosting world-class athletic events and the ‘community stadium’ can host professional and amateur sports as well as events.

Allianz Park intend to uphold their green standards by implementing a system of regularly monitoring and evaluating it’s processes.
